1. What is your favorite book and why?
Am I really supposed to limit myself to just one favourite? I do like my bath book, but "Giraffes? Giraffes!" is also very informative and the Galaxy Book is, well, the Galaxy Book, and is thus pretty cool. Also there's this one about the Animarium...

2. In twenty words or less, what is your opinion of the Dewey Decimal System?
It's shiny and it keeps things organised, so yay!

3. Why do you want to work in the library?
Because I like books, and I like people, and this is where the books and people meet.

4. A book is attempting to eat your sweater. Describe your reaction, and steps you would take to prevent this happening again, in 50 words or less.
Well, first I'd be all "ack!" and then I'd explain to the book why SPD uniforms are really not that nutritious and feed it jellybeans.

*sigh* availibility...

Early to late morning PST, most days, and then late afternoon till whenever I go to sleep.

I'm *supposed* to get one day a week off, and there's a 99% chance that I'll have night shifts on Wednesdays, so my hypothetical day off or a Wednesday, I'd be free all day.

1. What is your favorite book and why?

The Killer Angels by Michael Shaara. The main reason I like it is because it's just outright interesting (as many books about the American Civil War are, but many aren't, so...). But I also like it because it's accessible. There are a lot of "acclaimed" and "classic" novels that just aren't good reads, except to those who love the subject matter of the book. But The Killer Angels is a book that even people who don't especially like history seem to enjoy.

2. In twenty words or less, what is your opinion of the Dewey Decimal System?

It's great for finding what you're looking for, but only if you know where your subject falls into the system.

3. Why do you want to work in the library?

Special. Collections. Access. OMG. I already spend a good portion of my free time handwavily in the library, so it makes sense to me to help out if I'm going to be here anyway. And I figure I should use my research skills for good, and not evil.

4. A book is attempting to eat your sweater. Describe your reaction, and steps you would take to prevent this happening again, in 50 words or less.

Around here, that would be less than surprising, and possibly even less frightening than the jello dragons. I'd make sure the book got safely locked away in Special Collections, with a note letting everyone know why they shouldn't touch it without some sort of clothing protection.

1. What is your favorite book and why?

I have to limit my options?? Okay, any book I haven't read yet gets to the top of the list because then I can read it and find out what's inside. Though there's also the books I have read and want to reread because really rereading is the best way to take notes about the subject matter and good, organized note-taking is key. I read that in a book about note-taking but that wasn't my most favorite book of all because it didn't come with pages to write down your thoughts as you read, and I think that sort of thing should only happen if the book was shelved under Irony.

2. In twenty words or less, what is your opinion of the Dewey Decimal System?

It's the best alliterative system for book organization there is!

3. Why do you want to work in the library?

Sam stole my answer Because I love books, I have Giles-approved library experience, plus you never know when your library will need someone with Hellmouth experience. That was very useful at my last school.

4. A book is attempting to eat your sweater. Describe your reaction, and steps you would take to prevent this happening again, in 50 words or less.

I would probably try to distract the book with a tasty bookmark. I would attempt to keep it from happening by making sure the book was well-fed and cared for. I would do whatever possible not to break its spine because spine-breakers deserve live sentences in prison with no possibility of parole.

1. What is your favorite book and why?

People keep asking me that. I guess if I have to choose, it's Alice in Wonderland today. I always loved the bits with her growing bigger and smaller, even if it didn't really make any sense when I was little because I couldn't understand why she didn't just make another door if the first one wasn't big enough to let her through.

2. In twenty words or less, what is your opinion of the Dewey Decimal System?

I'm just learning, but it seems a sensible plan when you've got as many books as are in this library.

3. Why do you want to work in the library?

Because...books?

4. A book is attempting to eat your sweater. Describe your reaction, and steps you would take to prevent this happening again, in 50 words or less.

I'd run; I'm good at that. Then I'd ask my friend Carmela to come back with me and talk to the book. I'm sure it would listen to reason once it realized jumpers sweaters aren't very tasty. Perhaps we could feed it some attention; they always seem to swallow mine.

C? It's the only one I know. Unless you mean the sort of snark that's sometimes a boojum, in which case at least I can't think of a better place to softly and silently vanish away.

OOC - I'd be engaged in legitimate business activities during the day, so things might have to go to slowplay depending on how crazy that gets, but I'm usually around from 9 - 5 eastern (or later), and then back on in more comfortable surroundings and hour or so later. Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays are bestest, only because I can't positively guarantee I'd be able to pick up evening pings on Tue/Thurs -- though 9 times out of 10 I can.

1. What is your favorite book and why?
The Princess Bride - It has adventure, sports, daring swordfights!

JD thinks as he writes, And true love. You can't forget true love

2. In twenty words or less, what is your opinion of the Dewey Decimal System?
I never understood the name. I mean, if I invented a decimal system, I wouldn't want my name associated with it.

3. Why do you want to work in the library?
I like books! I'm going to be a doctor and I've got a very open face.

4. A book is attempting to eat your sweater. Describe your reaction, and steps you would take to prevent this happening again, in 50 words or less.
Maybe the book was hungry? What do books eat anyway?

1. What is your favorite book and why?
The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood. Mostly sentimental reasons. I have happy memories of it from my childhood.

2. In twenty words or less, what is your opinion of the Dewey Decimal System? It keeps things organized while confusing me because I have no clue why art is NA. It's an ordered mystery.

3. Why do you want to work in the library? I'm a nerd, I like books, and I used to spend a lot of time there anyway. Can't hurt, right?

4. A book is attempting to eat your sweater. Describe your reaction, and steps you would take to prevent this happening again, in 50 words or less.
I would use my enhanced strength to pry the book open and free my sweater. Then I wouldn't wear sweaters to the library anymore.

1. Beauty by Robin McKinley. It's a retelling of classic story of Beauty and Beast. It shows that looks aren't everything and sometimes the scariest exterior can hide a gentle heart.

2. Logical in a very illogical way.

3. I enjoy books and I would enjoy the opportunity to help my fellow students. I'd also be able to get my hands on the newest Angelica Desmesnes books before everyone else.

4. First I'd most likely stare at it for a few moments in disbelief. Then I would use my powers to send it up and hold it in the air where it couldn't do more damage in the short term. For a long term solution I'd most likely bury the book under copies of Bill O'Reilly's latest. It's not like anyone reads them anyway.

The library runs on: D. The library aides run on A.

[ooc: Availability - I'm around most weekdays (although Tuesday & Thursday would be best) from about 6:30 a.m. through 11:00 p.m. EST. I might have to occasionally slowplay during the day due to RL stuff but it shouldn't be that bad. And I'm around almost every evening. Weekends I'm generally not available during the day. But I am around at night.]

1. What is your favorite book and why?

I don't really have a favorite book-book. I mostly read comic books. Right now, She-Hulk is my favorite because she is just so cool.

2. In twenty words or less, what is your opinion of the Dewey Decimal System?

It works?

3. Why do you want to work in the library?

I need a job of some sort because the clubs I joined last year never seemed to meet and I figured that if I worked in the library, I might be able to work on my homework too. Plus, I really need to start reading book-books.

4. A book is attempting to eat your sweater. Describe your reaction, and steps you would take to prevent this happening again, in 50 words or less.

I would gently pry the book open to remove it from the sweater and try to find out what was okay for it to eat and give it that instead. Then, I'd try to keep whatever it likes to eat around in case the book ever looked hungry again.
